Space to Thrive
My desire to seek out a relationship with Mother Nature seemed lost.
The vibrant lush woods, gushing flow of rivers, and the fullness of the color green had vanished, only to be replaced by the brutality of colossal buildings, the coldness of gray steel, and silt of murky ochre waterways.
In need of air, I walk along solid concrete streets and paved paths. I Observe Mother Nature’s containment and constriction as she strives to grow and Blossom. Structures loom over her softness and Mask her enchantment, manicuring the alluring entropy that stood as the vertebrae of my inspiration.
I stumble and lose my balance.
When I look down to see what caused me to lose my footing, I notice the surface of the burdening concrete Plate beneath me has been pushed and rounded to be made uneven and imperfect. A nearby tree that was confined to a mere three by four-foot enclosure has spread roots from its Core to meet this force with its own power.
I saw Her shimmer. Only for a moment, but I was sure it was Her.
As time passes, I continue to experience these moments of exposure and I realize that although She is existing in an environment built to obscure Her, She continues to push through to create Her own Space to Thrive; and I realized…
Mother Nature was not lost, She is everywhere. She was just camouflaged in couture.
